Have you ever witnessed practices or trends and think, "that's not for me," because you don't see yourself reflected in them? That's how I always saw gentle parenting. I'd hear about this alternative style of parenting but then only see white moms in the conversations. And quite frankly, I didn't look into it deep enough to wonder if there was a way to practice gentle parenting that wasn't being co-opted by whiteness.
In our latest episode, I take a pause and lean into my friend Brittany's insight about gentle parenting. We touch on why it's such an important step into decolonizing parenting and breaking generational trauma. Brittany has also graciously shared two of resources for Black and brown parents/adults who want to learn more.
